If you’ve ever checked out my (mostly abandoned) personal website, Consume Less Create More, you know that I have a passion for those caught in human trafficking. Sex slavery, forced labor, and so much more goes on in every country around the world–including the United States–and this book explores how this happens in several countries and various ways. This is not a light and fluffy read. If you’ve never before studied the magnitude and severity of human trafficking, you’ll be shocked. Even if you have, you’ll be saddened. But you’ll also be encouraged. The author does a good job of telling stories of real people, not only those who have been trafficked or who have been traffickers, but also of those who are doing their best to rescue others and provide them with a better life.
All I can say is that this is an incredibly important topic, and one that is very dear to my heart, and Not For Sale is a great primer on the subject. Please read this book and think about how you can help change the lives of the women, children, and men who are enslaved around the world.
